Miss Adventure 2012

Happy Monday Loves! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, I can't wait to read about it on your blogs. This weekend, history was made. It was the First Annual Miss Adventure Trip among a group of close friends. And the worst part about this news? I was too busy relaxing and having fun to take too many photos.

Worst Blogger EVER!

But here are some that I do have! We took Friday off and headed down Thursday night to Perdido Key, Florida... Yes, I know what you are thinking... The beach in October? Well yes, it was awesome and perfect. It wasnt blazingly hot nor was there a crowd of people. You can see our view below for the perfectness that was beheld. The 7 of us took a day out on the Ocean Kayak's for a perfect day on the water and were able to replenish some of that lost summer color. When I get more pics I'll be sure to put them up!

Explanations

HELLLLOOOO All my long lost loves... It has been far too long since I have written, updated, and been present on this little blog here... I know, I know... You hear it all the time. But I am making a Fall Resolution to get better at my pet project and hobby and getting updated on all of yall's happenings as well. Where have I been? Well here is a quick picture explanation. And if you want an apology gift, read til the end.

What exactly do I have to update you on?

Well for starters, Love - as it should be, life, family, friends, California, Bithdays, travel, concerts, bacheloretteness, photography, and much much more. I hope that I can get in all of yall's good graces again and pique your interest with a upcoming "sorry" giveaway.

Weekend

This weekend was a freakin blast and much needed. It was mixed with a perfect combination of family/friend party time, Watching some good ol' fashion Braves Baseball, Piedmont Park Kickball and Food. What else better combination is there?

A Second Family

Today I am brought to the thought of second families. Over the years, I have realized that family goes further than blood. It extends beyond the bonds of anatomy and obligation and goes to the paths of others who have been woven into our own. We are lucky when we find these circumstances upon us. 

Growing up, I was always incredibly close to my own extended family - and still am. This in no way diminishes my love and gratefulness toward them. But I do believe that when it comes to our own, we often put our best selves out there in attempts to make them proud, and in that - we sometimes lose ourselves. 

It is when we choose our own family of friends and loved ones that we find who we really are. I was lucky enough to find an amazing second family along the way who has celebrated life with me, grieved death with me, offered advice, let me make my own mistakes, been there while others have come and gone, laughed and have made me laugh, and who have been there for me through the most crucial parts of my life. I am so incredibly grateful for these people and consider them my own. I am so lucky that they have accepted me into their lives and let me be a part of their story. 

Moving on from the "awws"... Let me finish by saying that these people are freakin awesome, hilarious, and down right rockstars. Thank you to the awesome times had and for the many to come.

Moving on, I would like to share an amazing person with you today. This girl is... Amazing. I wish I could just have an oz. of the pixie dust of her awesomeness. Miss Elise and I went to college together where I completely fell in love with her... And her closet... Really. I would go through her snow covered bedroom window in 10 degree weather just to borrow a shirt. (She has amazing taste). I was reminded of her hallelujah-ness when I spoke to her on the phone this week and how it made my whole day whole week. She has finally committed to getting on this blog wagon for good and I need your help in holding her accountable. So please meet one of my favorite gals.... ELISE! (Said like Bob Barker)

So this is just a little of what life has been for Miss Lindsay Nicole. There actually is a WHOLE lot more but I'll get to that eventually. On a side note, the New Year has proved quite trying. I am not too sure 2012 is going to be my year. BUT... I am staying optimistic. Optimistic People...... Deep Breath.
Moving on. Work has been pretty crazy lately... Long story short... Looks like I might have to look for a new job due to Gov't... Contracts.... Proposals won... blah blah blah... Please pray for me!

Love Life you ask? Um.... No idea. I have issues. Like bad. "Macgyver couldn't fix the shit going on in my head". Anyone..Anyone? I just feel NUMB and need to stop overthinking things. Thing is though, I love doing the whole ME thing right now. So though currently I am dating myself, (I make an awesome relationship partner) there might be a pretty awesome guy around. Time will tell.
The Knee... MRI next week! OFF crutches. OUT of a knee brace. Walking semi-regularly. BOOM!
Family? Brothers are hilarious as ever! I will end with the best conversation ever.

Me: I can't believe how big the boys are getting. Ugh... I wish they would stay this way forever
Mom: I know. It seems like just yesterday Tanner was three. Tanner, do you remember when you were three?
Tanner (age 5): Yeah.... Those were good times.

A little Photo/Life Update

Why hello there everyone. Today I thought I would give another life update through pictures seeing how they tell a much better story than I can. For a little word action though I'll share whats been goin down.
I LOVE the Holidays. Holiday highlights mean decorating through festivities, seeing old friends and family members, Holiday highschool chorus concerts, Hot Chocolate, and just plain awesomeness. I CAN'T WAIT to share all my Christmas pictures of my apartment but for now, you'll have to settle for just a sneak peek. Horrible you say? Don't worry the tips I'll give you on how to frugally shop for decorations will be worth it.

Over the weekend I had two of my closest friends come back in town. One to visit and one for good (Miss Timara). Brad has been one of my closest pals since middle school. (Shhh don't tell but he was the first boy ever who grabbed my butt in the 8th grade... GASP!)
But I have a hopeless love for him and his family who I consider my own and can never get enough of them all. Add our good friend David in the mix and we are quite the team. The three of us have really been through a lot together from the best times you'll never forget to the most heart wrenching that you think you might not make it through.
They have given me so many good laughs and the added value of childhood friendhips. I'm pretty lucky to have them but they think I'm pretty awesome too-ha!

Other high moments of the week- Having my best gal friend Timara move back and spending the night talking and laughing about the most pointless stuff, My sister's LAST holiday concert, family outing to Menchie's Yogurt, Awesome Dates, Getting my FIRST very own Chrsitmas tree-Thanks Kev!, cursing at the *&%$ wreath I tried to make, some cute outfits I was proud of, and time with people I adore.

ULTiMatE FALL dAy!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So how about a ton of pictures?... They tell a story.
Over the weekend I got to visit one of my closest friends - Timara - in Tennessee. It was a much needed day of laughing, hanging out, and just having a ridiculous amount of fun. It was the ultimate weekend of rejuvenation to laugh off the stress of everyday life.
