Brothers: $1

It is amazing what you can get an 8 and 5 year old to do with the bribe of $1. On Saturday, I got to spend some time with the Family and practice shooting in FULL MANUAL mode and finally apply what I had learned from my Photography class. Dialogue as follows:

Me: Tanner, Spencer! Come outside with me, I want to take some pictures of you.

Tanner and Spencer (dragging their feet): Okay... But YOU have to find my shoes!

4 minutes later...

Tanner: I'm bored, can we go inside? I'm in the middle of my Star Wars Lego Build!
Spencer: Heavy Sighing

Me: Okay.... If you guys cooperate, and listen to me when I say "Smile" and "look at me", then I will give you $1 whole dollar each for your time!

Spencer and Tanner (gasping): $1 dollar!? Well what if we do it for 20 minutes... do we get $2? and 30 minutes.. $3 dollars?

Me: Yup!

6 minutes in....


Tanner: Okay.. I'm fine with just one dollar.

Coloring My Life

I have been such a bad blogger. I apologize. Well to explain, I started a new position with my job! I am gaining a ton of experience but have had a huge learning curve... And last week it was all put to the test. What am I doing? Bore Factor: I am now, along with a lot of my past responsibilities, a Technical Writer helping in the development and writing for Government Proposals for our consulting firm. Ugh. Last week was a blur with work til 3 am and sleeping on my kitchen table. It wasn't pretty. Drool is meant for the pillow.

But This weekend I got to participate in Atlanta's COLOR RUN! Stay tuned for some awesomeness. I had SUCH a blast. Easter weekend was amazing minus and Meniere's episode :( . Well I also DID MY FIRST "RACE" since my Knee Injury and granted it wasnt my best performance, but I still had a blast. See? Oh and it also died my hair PINK so I am rocking the Avril Lavigne look this week. Be jealous, I'm totally professional at work now.

Yah, some awesome awesomeness. Easter was also pretty wonderful - I was able to spend it with some amazing family and loved ones and be reminded from my incredible Father's Easter talk that the knowledge we have of God and his teachings is "Good News" and no matter what trial or hardship we are going through in life, we have the Lord and His "Good News" and our pain can be mitigated through the atonement of our Savior. I hope you all had a happy and bright Easter weekend and were reminded of its true meaning. Through the atonement and sacrifice of our Savior, we can all return to the Lord's Kingdom.

-Hey all, Lindsay's phone here. Today I decided to show you how awesome Lindsay's life is through my photo lense and neglected photo gallery. I as well am glad that she is being more active as her long conversations of complaining were making me want to pull a "Siri" and go crazy on her. She is letting me rest more and enjoy myself in her back pocket or if I'm really lucky, her purse pocket for the whole day without even checking me. Blue & Gold

A few weeks ago, My little Brother, Spencer, had his Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. He and my dad had to make a cake to represent a scouting activity and needless to say, as it always is in our family, our presented cake was the best. Granted some bias might come up, but truly... A mountain biking cake = hardcore. My mom had the honor of painting him to next level while my youngest brother, despite reprimand, continued to eat cake like a dog - face first in the plate. Love my family.
Excuse the half point and shoot and half DSLR. Oh and, yes, Spencer is just abnormally pale and not an albino.

Lately & Some Advice Needed From You

Hello There!

So I am very sorry for my dry spell lately in posts. I just don't know what my deal is lately. I am pretty sure that it has to do with being stressed about work and wondering every day if my job is going to be in place by the end of the week. Some not so fun stuff. But anywho... Life has been spoiling me lately. I have found some new passions and I am really trying to master them.
What are they you ask? Photography and Graphic Design. I'll post some pictures this week. Pinky Promise. But as of late, this is what my life has looked like from my phone's perspective....outside of work.

Photo Dump Confessions

So I have noticed lately that I haven't really been sharing a lot about my life and have only been writing about certain topics. I am sorry for that. I really want to you to be able to get to know me and not just the side I choose to show.

So as of late:

-Work is really my life. It's pretty much all I do lately with some randomness thrown in between. I have been crazy stressed lately to the point of not sleeping, breaking out, and being a bipolar case but I am finally getting settled into this new position I have. I have been learning a ton and it has been a blessing to learn SO MUCH while still new to the corporate world. Expanding my experience and knowledge base will be a huge asset in the future.

-My Heart has issues. I don't know what I want right now and that scares me. I know that in the future I want to be married and have children, there's no compromising on that. But I am at a point in my life where I am finally TRULY doing the "me" thing, and I love it. I do too much for others and not enough for myself. I will never have this opportunity again for the rest of my life, so I am taking the opportunity now even though its frowned upon by certain people around me who wish I would just pop out babies already.

-I don't know if I can work in Corporate America for the rest of my career. I'm good at it, I enjoy it, but it is SO easy to lose sight of the important things in life while being here. I want to work to live, not live to work.

- I got a roommate! Timara is finally living with me and I absolutely love it. I love that I don't get annoyed with her, we can have a crazy night out or low key night in and its always the best. It's nice to be able to have an intelligent conversation with her and talk about gossip (we all do). She is my honorary, *non-romantic, significant other.

-Is it sad that down the road I want my husband to just take care of me without me having to worry about work? Outside of being a stay at home mom, I do want hobbies and side projects that bring in income, but I don't want a 9-5 when I'm married after the first few years. But I am willing to do my part.

- My whole life I have felt a burden that my future family will depend on me financially and it stresses me out to the point of daily anxiety.

-I find myself wanting the past back even though I know it's not right, at least now, and know that its not healthy for me.

-I hate living with Meniere's Disease. I have had to completely change my lifestyle. I never know when an attack will come and that just adds on more stress. Sometimes I am SO mad about it, but I have to remember that if this is the only thing I have to go through right now, I have it SO easy and am so lucky and blessed.

-I always feel under-appreciated.

-I'm completely happy and complacent in life right now. Life is good and wonderful in the most imperfect way.

Have Fun With This One

Itssssssss..... THURSDAY... I just said that in my mind like the Price is Right guy would from the low to the high voice. Speaking of Price is Right (Funny story, this wasn't planned - literally just came to me as I wrote this) Check out this Sa-Weet little story board of my mom in the 80's.



She won a car. A-Ha-Some. O and you're welcome - She's going to KILL me now. But I think this is a pretty good intro to an Awkward and Awesome post right? So without further adieu...

Awkward:
-My mom refusing to share this tape (literally hid it from her husband) only to have her whole family make us watch it Christmas day. I'm liking the parachute pants, 80's hair, and socks with flats. Mother has it goin on.
-Forgetting the name of the neighbour you talk to EVERY DAY while introducing your new roommate. Sorry guy!
-My Christmas tree is still up? Got a definite "crazy lady" look from the maintenance man
-Thinking I looked pretty good today for work only to have the first thing said to me... "How are you feeling? You look kind of... Well... Ehh" Ya... As I so awesomely tweeted here
-Forgetting how to do simple math in front of people. Went something like "well 9 goes in 36 eight times".. It doesn't, its 4. I'm pretty sure? Yes, just checked on my calculator.  (real time updates on this blog)
-Running into people from high school you don't want to see. Still awkward EVERY time though it happens often.
-Pants paranoia during lady time of the month. Let's be real here

On to the next part:



Awesome:
-Getting this bad boy for Christmas and breaking him out at E-ver-ry opportunity.
-Getting to work from home a couple days each week.
-Asking YOU this important question.. ha ha... Should I go back blonde, go a little lighter.. or stay dark for my next hair appointment? Need the help ladies
-Having faith in God that everything will work out even though inside I'm freaking out like a rabid squirrel
-Starting and sticking to my "Healthy Eating" goal this week. I can already tell a huge difference.
-Losing 2.3 lbs
- Got a tripod for badboy above. Thinking of keeping his name BadBoy or changing it to BA- Bad Ass. I name my loved items. To me, they have feelings (Re-insert line into awkward)
-One more day 'til da weekend.... C'mon, c'mon, c'mon!!
-Getting better at this whole walking thing

So this is just a little of what life has been for Miss Lindsay Nicole. There actually is a WHOLE lot more but I'll get to that eventually. On a side note, the New Year has proved quite trying. I am not too sure 2012 is going to be my year. BUT... I am staying optimistic. Optimistic People...... Deep Breath.
Moving on. Work has been pretty crazy lately... Long story short... Looks like I might have to look for a new job due to Gov't... Contracts.... Proposals won... blah blah blah... Please pray for me!

Love Life you ask? Um.... No idea. I have issues. Like bad. "Macgyver couldn't fix the shit going on in my head". Anyone..Anyone? I just feel NUMB and need to stop overthinking things. Thing is though, I love doing the whole ME thing right now. So though currently I am dating myself, (I make an awesome relationship partner) there might be a pretty awesome guy around. Time will tell.
The Knee... MRI next week! OFF crutches. OUT of a knee brace. Walking semi-regularly. BOOM!
Family? Brothers are hilarious as ever! I will end with the best conversation ever.

Mom: I know. It seems like just yesterday Tanner was three. Tanner, do you remember when you were three?
